stop, look, and listen

I was reading in a really great book the other day called, "Better than you think you are". It really is an amazing book and I highly recommend it. Anyhow, she has a chapter in which she talks about the sign at a railroad crossing, "stop, look, and listen". She then talked about how in our life we need to stop, look and listen, and not miss the beauties all around us. She said to make sure we "don't miss the spring". Sometimes, I think that in all our busy and craziness, we forget to realize the beauty of the world around us. Sometimes we are so anxious and excited for our next step in life. We can't wait 'til we graduate, get married, have our own home, have a good salary, etc, etc, etc. We miss too much in our longing for tomorrow. Stop. Enjoy today and all the tender mercies around you.
